Common Questions:

What is a home inspection?

A home inspection is an objective examination of the structure and current systems of a house. We inspect from the roof to the foundation. If problems or safety issues are found we may recommend further evaluation or remedies.

What’s the price of an inspection?

We offer competitive rates for Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Actual rates are dependent on several factors:

  • The square-footage of the home, building, or structure
  • The age of the home, building, or structure
  • The amount of time required to be on-site

When is payment due and how can I pay?

Payment is due at the end of the inspection. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card.

How soon should I schedule my home inspection?

It is best to schedule an inspection well in advance. This way you have time to review and make important decisions. We would require at least 24 hrs notice.

What will the report look like?

Moran Property Inspections uses   software.

You can download a sample report here.

When can I expect my report?

Although we know that it is an instant world, we pride ourselves on doing a quality and extensive report. It does take some time to compile a comprehensive report after the initial examination of the house. Most reports will be done 24 to 48 hours after the inspection.

What if the report reveals issues?

This is what the inspection is for. We may find unexpected things. No house is perfect. The report is an impartial view on the condition of the structure and components. We will suggest what should be done with each issue. It is up to you to decide how to proceed after the inspection.

What if I have any questions after the inspection?

We welcome any questions you have about our report. Feel free to contact us at any time.
